In the past, people needed phones based on the number of SIM cards they owned. Back then we didn’t have dual SIM phones.
Now, that we do, a lot of people don’t see the need to have more than one phone if they have to tackle issues like bad reception, call costs, etc.
Ideally, everyone should have at least two phones. One of the phones should have all the features they want (e.g. fancy screen, nice build, etc.), while the other can be the cheap phone that covers their basic needs (e.g. internet, social media, phone calls, etc.)
To further explain why I believe everyone should have at least two phones, I’ll have to tell you a short personal story.
My name is Shaibu Ibrahim, the owner of Shu’s Techs. On my website, I publish tech-related articles. I also have a YouTube channel as well as other social media accounts where I share my tech knowledge.
Now you may be wondering why I am saying all of this.
Well, most of my online activities have always been done on my phone. I respond to comments with my phone, share internet to my laptop using my phone.
One of my popular videos on YouTube is how to use Every Proxy to share your VPN connection using your phone.
All the tutorials on my channel were made by recording my phone’s screen (editing the videos is done with my laptop).
I’ve always been able to fix all the phones I’ve owned in the past whenever they had problems.
So I didn’t see the need for owning more than one.
But recently, my phone got damaged and it turned out to be a hardware problem. I am not very good with hardware, I know a few things, but when it comes to soldering and changing parts, I stay away.
I never saw this coming.
I always thought I would be able to fix my phone when it had issues. But well, I’ve learned my lesson.
Now, I am not able to make tutorials, quickly answer comments or do a lot right now because my phone is still in the hands of repairers. And it may take a few more days before it is fixed.
Since I am still trying to understand the online business world, I am investing my money on my website and YouTube channel.
Soon I will be investing in more phones and better equipment.
I just gave you a short story of why I wish I had a second phone, you on the other hand may have other reasons.
Some of you may not be that techy to understand how to fix software or hardware issues on your phone.
Now think about it, what if one day your phone refuses to turn on? How many calls will you miss? Emails? News? Etc.
I mean, you won’t be able to even take pictures with your phone if you quickly want to save a special moment.
The worst part is the boredom, I watch or play games on my phone when I’m bored, now I just look at the ceiling.
Everyone should have at least two phones.
If you can afford two flagship phones, get them so you don't miss out on features you get used to as you use your phone. If you can’t, get a cheap phone instead.
Technology fails at the worst times, always have a backup so you don’t get stranded like I am right now.
